Happy Birthday, Princess Hazel!!!

On November 14th, 2007, I was blessed with the birth of my beautiful Princess, Hazel Patricia Robbins!!!! I love that little girl more and more every day. She makes every day worth living and smiling!!! I thank Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with her, she is my greatest blessing!!!! She is strong, smart, funny and beautiful!!!! She has a mind of her own and loves to try new things. And, as she just informed me.....she twirls!!! Right now she is singing Christmas songs, I am sure due to the fact that she spent the weekend with her Dad, who starts the Christmas music full time the day after Halloween!!!!

Last, I love you Hazel, and thanks for always reminding me how much you love me too!!! Now...Hazel is begging to type a little, so here are some words straight from her:

I love hearing you sing and talk about things like princesses and getting married in the temple dressed as Cinderella to your Dad. I love the way you use your imagination, especially when you always want to play "mom and kid" with me, as in you get to be the mom and I am the kid, and then you scold me when I accidentally call you my baby..."no mom, I'm the mom and you're the kid. California and Disneyland October 2010 final part

This las part of our trip we spent in Seasaide and Monterey, California, with a quick drive through San Francisco on the way home. Sheryl, Tom and the boys are living there while Tom finishes up his training for the National Guard. It was so fun to spend time with them!!! It is a beautiful city and it has to the three things that I always go to San Fran for: Giradelli Hot Fudge Sundae, Clam Chowder and the beautiful Ocean!!! It was still fun to do those in San Fran as well. The beach was a blast!!!! Probably my favorite part. I loved being able to spend this time with some of my family and especially with my Hazey!!!!

We spent the whole day with one of my mom's best friends growing up, Sandy. She trains dogs for the blind and brought one of her dogs with her, Jax. Everyone was in love with him and he got us to the front of every line!!! Alanna cried when we had to say goodbye, but now she got a golden retriever named Kona.

This October we decided to take a fun trip to California and Disneyland. We went with Grammy Bliss, CJ, Wendy, and their kids, Alanna, Luke and Bode. We left at 3:30 am and arrived in St. George just in time for the beautiful sunrise, so, we got out and played a little....this was the first part of our trip.....

As I am sure most little girls are at this age, Hazel was insistant on being a princess for Halloween and she decided she would be Snow White....she decided this all on her own, it was so sweet. Her cousin Audrey was the cutest Who from Whoville....we had fun taking them out....for a short time anyway, it was raining. I was able to take Hazel out to my parents on Sunday though for some "around the house" trick or treating with her cousins. She got more candy there then she did in her outing the night before.

We also had a TON of fun carving pumpkins....I will try to get those pics up soon (they are on my camera, the pics on here I stole from Lisa's blog...Thanks, Lisa)!!!

Summer Fun!!!

Wow!!! It has been a long time since I have blogged. Hazel and I have been having a very fun Summer though. We have spent a lot of time at Lagoon, playing in the backyard, spending time with family, going to the mountains and so much more. She is getting so big and is still such a good girl, I can take her anywhere. She has started her two year old fits, but they are pretty minimal.

I have started working for PEHP while Hazel plays at her Aunt Wendy's all day. They do lots of fun activities so she has a good time. I miss her though. Hazel tells me all the time that she is a princess and she dresses up every chance she gets.

Hazel's Grammy and Papa Robbins arrived home from their 3 year mission July 3rd and came home to four granddaughters with a fifth born just over a week later!!! It was so exciting!!!

Fourth of July fun!!! We went to the Magna parade, to Grammy and Grampy Bliss' for food and fun and then Hazel and I went and had Mommy/Hazel time watching fireworks...she oohed and awaed and fell asleep about ten minutes in!!!

Hazel decided to give herself a haircut for the third time...I think she gets the message now...I did trim it a little to try and even it out after this...

Fun in the Mountains with the Family!!! I love this time...so relaxing and fun!!!

The Scorpions are my most favorite band ever!!! I was so excited that I was able to see them at their farewell tour. They were amazing and I had so much fun with my friends - Trish, Clint, Ryan, Carly, Kristin and Brandon!!

The night after seeing The Scorpions I was able to take Hazel with all of my friends to see Dave Matthews Band. We had so much fun and Hazel loved all of the attention!!!

Mother's Day

This post is a little late, but my Mother's Day was very nice, mostly because I get the joy of being a mom to the best little girl in the world. She gave me the biggest kiss and hug that morning, told me she loved me and said "Happy Mudda's Day." She made me cute art in school and at church. Then thanks to my mom and dad, I had a little present waiting for me from her at their house. They are so cute too.

I also want to say how blessed I feel to have the mom I do. She is so sweet, soft and strong. She genuinely cares so much about everyone, especially her kids. She has a quiet, but very funny and corny sense of humor and I love it. She has worked so hard her whole life for us and I love her more than I could ever say. I am SOOOOO....blessed.

I also have the best Grandma's. They are the sweetest in the world. We were able to spend time with them over the weekend. Here are some pics from Hazel.

An Explanation....

So, this post has been a long time coming and I will probably still leave it short and to the point. I am sure most who read this already know, but Josh and I divorced early this year. We had separated for the second time in October and shortly after made it final. He and I had a difficult marriage from the beginning. We let things fester without proper resolutions until they built up to breaking point. If proper steps had been taken, we may have been able to save our marriage, but they weren't. So here we are.....

Above all, we have a beautiful little daughter together. We both love her so much and I feel we are making some really good choices in the way we are raising her. We are kind and respectful to each other now and are sure to always be positive about one another. We never want Hazel to feel the separation more than she has to.

While it will never be ideal for Hazel to be raised in two separate homes, it was never good for her to be raised in the prior circumstance either. She is the best gift I have ever received in my life and I will always be grateful to her dad for that. He is a really good dad to her.

Now we are just moving forward trying to stay positive and happy. It is not always easy, but I believe we are happier than we were before. It is my goal to be the best mom I can to her. I love her so much.

Hopefully this post did not come as a shock to anyone. Thanks to all those who do know for their love and kindness.

Yes, we are Lagoon nerds, and this year we received season passes for Christmas. I have always liked Lagoon, but it is even more fun with Hazel there. She is brave and fun to go with. Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope you all had a great time with your families this year. I also hope that we all took a minute to reflect on the life of the Savior Jesus Christ and all he did for us. It is really hard for me to do sometimes as I get caught up in my own life, but I am so grateful for the sacrifice he made for me and all of us. I am so grateful that we can live again and that we can live with our families forever. Hazel is one of the greatest blessings in my life and I am so glad that we can be together forever. I am also grateful for all of my friends and family. I am very lucky to be surrounded with so many wonderful and good people. My family is amazing and my friends are special!!

In the Easter Bunny part of Easter, we had a lot of fun. Hazel spent the weekend with her dad and this morning he did a really fun Easter egg hunt with her. Then I came over and we gave her a princess scooter and barbie helmet and padding. She loved it, obviously, but she is also pretty good on her scooter already. After we watched her for a little bit on it, I gave Hazel her Easter bunny basket and we went over to Grammy and Grampy Bliss' for some family fun - Easter egg hunt, dinner and some presents from Grammy, Grammy Great and Grampy. It was a pretty good day!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!!! We had a lot of fun this year. On Saturday we went with some friends to the parade at the Gateway and managed to stay clear of the rain. Hazel loved it, especially all the doggies that were in the parade. Then today she had fun at The Winner School sporting her adoreable tutu! She was able to spend the evening with her dad and had so much fun with him.

Last week, on Presidents Day, we went with some friends to Hollywood Connections. It was Hazel's first time golfing, well miniature golfing. We had a lot of fun and it was so much fun to watch Hazel trying to hit the ball and interacting with Trish and Clint's girls, Mckenzie and Madi (Madi is only 4 months older than Hazel). Happy New Year to everyone!!!
I am one who does believe in New Year's resolutions mainly because I think if nothing else, it is a good reminder to us to set goals and no matter how many times we fail at them, to just keep trying. However, with that said, this year I was determined not to have losing weight and getting in shape be one of them, so I started back up this past Tuesday, the 29th!!! Thankfully though, as I did, I realized that I had reached my first goal that I had set a few months ago, to be under 120 before the end of the year. I am so glad that I reached that. If I recall, last year my main resolutions were to be more spiritually, physically and financially fit. Well I am okay in all of those departments, but I want to continue to work on them this year. Here are my resolutions for this year:

1. Do things to become more spiritually fit.
I cannot rely on others to do this for me, I have to do it for myself, so I would like to make sure that I am setting some time aside each day to focus on allowing the gospel teachings into my day so that I can grow closer to our Heavenly Father

2. SAVE
I like to spend money, I won't lie, but this year my goal is to see how much I can save!!!! I will be putting at least a little away each month

3. Spend tons of time with my little Hazel
This one is easy, but I just want to never lose sight of the importance of quality time with her, especially since I am going to school and working a little. She is so important and I want her to feel like her mommy is always there. I love her so much and she is so much fun. p.s. we received Lagoon season passes from Grammy and Grampy this year, so we will also be spending some quality time playing at Lagoon!!! Yay!!!

4. Self improvement
We all need this, but I am going to have a special focus on it this year!!!

5. Do something new
I don't know what this will be yet, but I would like to try something new...

I think 5 is a good number to start with. I hope you all had a great New Years and that you are all looking forward to the year to come. The Holidays were fun, despite the challenges we are facing right now (which I will share a little bit more at a later date). While we all face challenges in our lives, let me end with this, we all truly can decide each morning what kind of attitude we want to have. If we choose happiness we will be happy, if we choose sadness, we will be sad. It doesn't mean that we don't have good and bad days, but we can choose which one we have most of. And you know what....I choose happiness!!! And I believe that Hazel will continue to be the happy bubbly girl she is so long as she is surrounded by that!!!

Christmas Fun!!

Oh my goodness, Christmas was so fun this year!!! Hazel has not quite connected the dots but she was definitely way into it. We had a lot of family parties we went to - Christmas Eve was the extended Bliss Family party as well as the more immediate family party with presents from Grammy and Grampy Bliss. Following that we went over to Great Grampy Clawson's and had food and presents there too. Then Christmas morning Hazel received her presents from Santa, from Mommy and from Daddy. We then went over to Uncle Jayson and Aunt Kim's for the immediate Robbins' Family party. We had a little break in between and then had the extended Robbins' Family party. Busy days but a lot of fun!!!! Hazel was very spoiled and loved EVERYTHING she got. We also made sure to have some time, as you will see below, to do our annual Nativity Scene to remember the reason for the season, Jesus Christ. It is fun in two ways - one we like to have a part of the night dedicated to remembering, two, we are definitely better at acting out the Nativity Scene then we are at singing or playing instruments. It was a lot of fun and man....I love that Hazel girl sooooo.....much!!! She is such a bright light in my life!!!! I am always going to do everything I can to be the kind of Mommy she deserves.

The Beginnings of Christmas Fun

So the Christmas fun has begun. The first event we had was the ward Christmas party, and yes, Hazel is still afraid of Santa. But we had a good time and I obviously made her sit on his lap long enough to get a picture!!! What a mean mommy I am. We really like our new ward though!!!

Hazel's Uncle Glenn and Aunt Chrissy are going to be in Las Vegas for Christmas (that is where Glenn's family lives), so they had us all over for a nice dinner and some presents on Sunday. The girls had a lot of fun and Aunt Chrissy made them a really cute letter and frame for their rooms. Lisa and I had to buy them matching dresses too. They are so fun to watch now that they are really interacting.

Hazel looks so old in the above picture. Beautiful, but too soon...................

Sheryl and I made easy gingerbread (well graham cracker) houses with Hazel and Danny yesterday. They had a lot of fun...eating them anyway!!!

And that is just the beginning. It is not even Christmas Eve yet. We are so excited for all of the holiday fun with our awesome families and we are especially grateful for the birth of Jesus Christ and all he did for us. He is the reason we have fun times like these!!!

Tomorrow is my beautiful sweet angels birthday!!! She will be 2 years old. I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAZEL!!! I love you more then words will ever be able to say. You make me sooooo...................happy!!! Here are some of my favorite things about you....

The way you dance around just about every time music comes on. I especially love it when you do our new turkey dance that we just made up.

The way you tilt your head in all sincerity when you are trying to be so serious with me.

How much you love to make animal noises and how much you talk about them, especially the ducks that we pass by every day!!!

All the new words you are saying, especially "printhesses" and "melmo" and "teat" and "dink" you are just so cute and I love your sweet little voice.

I love all of the art work you make and how excited you are about all of it. You have so much joy beaming out of you all the time and I am so grateful for it.

Your super girliness, I mean, you actually like to go shopping with me and you love trying on shoes!!! It is so much fun!!!

I did not do a very good job at getting a bunch of pics from Hazel's Halloween fun, but she had a lot of fun. We went to Great Grammy Reeves first, then we went to Grammy and Grampy Bliss' and had soup and went to their trunk or treat with her cousins. Then, we went to Aunt Lisa's to trunk or treat with cousin Audrey and then to Great Grampy Clawsons. It was a lot of fun and Hazel got way too much candy. We ended the night relaxing with Aunt Chrissy, Aunt Lisa and cousin Audrey over at Lisa's house. Hazel was pooped and really slept in this morning. I love that little girl...she was so cute and so much fun!!!

The Poopy Monster

While it is kind of hard to see, that is not chocolate on Hazel's hands and mouth...ewww....I know!!! This was her bedtime surprise for Mommy!!! On two occasions previously Hazel, when being put down for a nap in just her diaper and no pants, has pooed and played with it and smeared it everywhere. But, this time she was fully clothed and I had just put her down for the night. Next thing I know, there is a poopy smell coming from upstairs. I went to check on her and she had reached down her pants and into her diaper and had smeared her poo all over her pajamas, the floor and the door....it was really gross. Thank you to Aunt Sheryl for helping me clean her up and taking a picture for memories.

Potty Trained and more...

It has been a while since I last blogged and a big thing has happened at our house. Let me start from the beginning. For almost two months Hazel was wanting to go use the big potty 2-3 times a day on average, but at least once a day. She would actually go and once in a while she was going number 2. I was trying to avoid potty training yet just because I didn't want to try before she was really ready and then have her rebel against it. Well, once we hit about 2 months of this, my mom told me I just needed to try. So, I took off the diaper and put the panties on ( a tip I learned from Sheryl who learned it from her sis-in-laws, no pull ups, just straight to panties), and you know what? She rarely has an accident. She has been doing so good and it has been over a month now!!! She isn't even 2 yet. Thank you Hazel for making this potty training thing so easy for me!!!

Lagoon!!

I forgot my camera when Sheryl and I took the kids to Lagoon last week so I am trying to figure out how to get the photos off my phone. Until then, I will just have to tell you about it. First of all, I am an amusment park nerd. I love going and I love rides. Second, after this last trip I have learned that my twenty month old little sweetie is also an amusment park nerd. She had SOOOO....much fun. She rode non stop rides for eight and a half hours including the little roller coaster, puff the magic dragon, twice!!! It was so much fun to see her excitment. She even put both hands in the air on bulgy the whale. What an awesome adoreable little cutie Hazel is!!! Looks like we will have to go for the season passes next year!!! Yeah!!!!

I am not trying to potty train Hazel yet. My sister-in-law's doctor told her that now is the time to start potty training them. Specifically introducing them to the potty and so on...So, I decided to set up a Hazel potty today. She sat on it right away and I kept asking her if she needed to go poopy, and she kept saying yes (even though I know she didn't because she went poopy about a half an hour before that). It was cute because she was trying to push and everything. Anyway, I closed the potty and left the bathroom to grab something. When I went back in, Hazel had her hand in her potty swirling around her pee!!! (Don't worry, I washed her hands really well). She had lifted her potty lid, sat down and went pee all by herself!!! It was CRAZY!!!! I gave her a popsicle after to make sure she knew it was a good thing. I still am not planning to REALLY potty train her yet or put any pressure on her for a while, but it was so cute and a step in the right direction, already.

This is one of my favorite holidays. I love that we can take a day and celebrate our freedom in celebration and gratitude to all who have gone before us and made this possible. All of them gave some and some of them gave all. This past month and a half I just finished up my American Civilization class at the University of Utah and I learned SO much about what went into the forming of our country. It is amazing.

Hazel and I had so much fun with all of the family (Josh was in North Carolina visiting his friend). We went to the Herriman Days parade and fair a week ago, to Murray Park with cousin Audrey and Aunt Lisa, to Grandpa Clawsons (all on Friday). Then on Saturday we went to Grammy and Grampy Bliss' for the Annual Bliss Swim Party, then to Uncle Dan and Aunt Annie's for a BBQ, and then home to watch fireworks done by Uncle Tom, and on the roof to see the fireworks going off around the valley. Hazel was adoreable and so well behaved for me. She played and played and played and then crashed when I finally put her to bed. I love that girly so much!!! Here are some fun photos of our fun...

The Shadow...

So, Hazel discovered her shadow this week. She usually notices it while we are in her room doing her hair with the light on. She looks over at the wall next to her, sees her shadow, takes a second to figure it out, and then decides that she is scared of it!!! It is really kind of funny...needless to say, I have to remember not to turn the light on while I am getting her ready.

Hazel is 18 months old today.....it is exciting and fun and sad, only sad because time is going by so fast. She is starting to say a lot of words and has been trying to make animal noises. She plugs her nose and says "moo" for a cow and then every other animal, dogs, birds, lions, ducks, etc, sound like a lion!!!! She loves to boogie around at any sound of music, she climbs on everything, gets into everything and is starting to figure out how to open doors. She's a busy little girl and I LOVE that about her!!! I just LOVE her SOOO....much!!! I love that she will almost always give me a hug and kiss when I ask for it and I love that she loves to spend time with me. I am so grateful to be her mommy!!!

I have an awesome sister-in-law and close friend, Lisa, who just lost her barely younger brother this past weekend. It's difficult to imagine what that feels like. I know this loss is so hard and Lisa is so strong and has been such an example to me. Her and I were talking yesterday about how grateful we are for the Gospel in our lives, to know that we will all be together. However, we also were talking about how much we would love to just get a glimpse of our loved ones right after they pass just to be able to see with our own eyes that they are happy and safe. I guess we will just have to hold on to our Faith, and what a beautiful thing Faith is!!!

I pray for peace and comfort for all of her family at this difficult time.

First I want to start with the true meaning of Easter.

I am sure I speak for all of us when I say how truly grateful I am that our Savior, Jesus Christ bled and died for me, and most of all, he was resurrected for me. He made it possible for all of us to repent and be forgiven for our sins and to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again. We can be together forever thanks to Him. I am so grateful this day to be able to remember all that He did for me and for the life He lived for me.

We had so much fun over at Great Grampy Clawson's. I wish I had the picture of them sitting on his lap. He is so wonderful and we love him so much!!!

Decorating eggs was interesting, stressful and fun. Hazel wanted to do it her way which was using her hands inside the dye with the eggs. (We were able to get the dye off fairly quickly with cooking oil and sugar as a scrub and then rinsing with soap and water, there's a trick for anyone who is wondering)!!!

Hazel was able to talk to Grammy and Papa Robbins (on their mission in Cincinnati) on Easter morning. She was so cute with them and smiled so big at the sound of their voices. Grammy and Papa were also able to skype in for the Easter egg decorating (thank you for technology). They sent Hazel a Sacrament book personalized and created with lots of love by Grammy. We love them so much and can't wait to see them in about 14.5 months!!!

I think this is the first year I have had Spring fever!!! I think it is just because I am so excited to be able to take Hazel outside and to the park!!! Here are some fun pics of her in my excitement for Spring. Also, here is a fun fact: Hazel just started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago!!! She has never really been one to wake up and need to eat or play (not since her first couple of months), she has just always woken up crying a couple of times a night because she wanted me or her binki. Now she has been sleeping straight through!!! I am one happy Mommy!!!

Hazel Update

Hazel had her 15 month appointment today. She is now 23 lbs which puts her right in the 50th percentile and she is 31.5 inches tall which puts her in the 75th percentile (so far she is taking after her dad). Her doctor said that she is looking healthy and strong and progressing just how she should. We are so grateful that she has continued to stay so healthy.

Hazel is now 15 months old as of Valentine's Day. She is growing so fast. She now has 8 teeth, can feed herself (for the most part and in her own way), has figured out how to climb on most things and is a VERY busy girl. It is so much fun to watch her throughout the day as she moves from one thing to the next trying to figure it all out. She really only stops to eat and sleep. Although she threw her first fit the other day, she is still one of the happiest little girlies!! I love having her around so much!!!!

Miracles

In a time when there is so much difficulty, miracles still happen. My sister-in-law/one of my best friends as well, recently had this experience.

She has a brother who struggles with an addiction to drugs. Recently he had an accidental overdose. His mom found him in his room where he was not breathing, had no pulse, his heart had stopped. They were able to get medical attention quickly and revive him. He was put on a ventilator with the prospect of him not being able to ever breath on his own and a worry of severe brain damage. Lisa's family met together and prepared for the worst, but still hoped for the best. The doctor had told them he had only seen one case like this where the patient lived. A few days later, things began to change. He has gradually begun to be somewhat coherent, smile, move, talk. His brain damage appears to be minimal. He is making great progress every day. This change was very opposite of what was predicted and it is amazing. It is proof to us, that Heavenly Father still blesses us with miracles every day and I believe that more miracles will come from this as well. The other day we were at Cabella's and Hazel and Audrey started to hold hands and walk. Audrey is still learning to walk so Hazel was trying to help her. It was SO cute. We had so much fun this Christmas. We were able to spend some time with all of both our families and Hazel was so much fun. She may not completely understand the concept of Christmas, but she still loved opening presents!!! She also made a great sheep for our Nativity scene. We are so grateful this Christmas for the wonderful friends and family we are surrounded with. We are especially grateful for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ; for everything he has done for us in his life making it possible for us to return with Him and our Heavenly Father someday. His birth is a miracle to me and I think, as we look at our little children, a little bit of that miracle truly makes sense.

I thought, despite any little things that were not quite the same as the book, the acting was so good. They really put a great cast together and picked the perfect people for each part. Happy Birthday Hazel!!! Today is my sweet little baby's birthday. As I am sure you hear from Mom's all the time, it went way too fast. It is very much a bittersweet day for me. I remember the day I had her, in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was in labor for nearly 24 hours before they had me start trying to push. Hazel kept hitting my pelvic bone and would not come through. After 2 hours of pushing they decided to do a C-section (not an emergency one though, thankfully). The second that girl came out and I heard her cry, I cried. She was so beautiful. She was 8 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches long. What a blessing she has been in my life every since. I really cannot imagine my life without her. She is everything to me. Here are 10 things I love about her...

1. She is always smiling and she has a beautiful smile.
2. The way she tilts her head to the side when she wants to be silly.
3. The way she opens and closes her hands when she wants something.
4. Her laugh, it's contagious.
5. The way she runs to me and just puts her arms around me.
6. Her sweet "mm..aa" kisses, with her mouth open and slobbery still, of course.
7. Her curiousness, she wants to see everything and touch everything
8. Her slyfulness, if there is way out of the room around my blockings, she finds it...
9. Her jibber jabber, I love to listen to her talk.
10. Her beauty, I am very blessed to have such a beautiful girl.

We went to Vegas this last weekend because that is where Josh's sister, Chrissy's new husband is from and his family held an open house out there for them. We stayed with Glenn's family and they were so wonderful. We were able to sight see quite a bit for such a short weekend and it was a lot of fun, however, Vegas is more sinful then ever (as in the strip, not Vegas in general, I know there are some great areas out there to live). I can't believe the things that are out in the open to see. It is too bad, but we had fun anyway.

11 Months Today!!

Hazel is 11 months old today!! I cannot believe it. I have to start planning her one year birthday party already. Time has gone by so fast, but it has been wonderful. I believe it was President Monson who spoke about having joy in the journey at this past conference. Well, I have had so much joy in this journey. Hazel has brought so much joy to Josh and my life!!! Here are some fun pics from this weekend. Josh's sister, Chrissy was married. It was a wonderful wedding and I know her and Glenn are going to be so happy.

It seems like when it rains, it pours. One of my very best friends in the whole world, Randi, lost her dad tonight. I know I seem to be posting a lot about passings lately, but I do this to express my care for the wonderful friends and family I have been blessed to be surrounded with, and that is exactly what I hope we will all do in times like this, remember the wonderful support group we are surrounded with. I love Randi so much, she has been my best friend for SOOOO...long. I am so sad that she has to feel this pain. It is actually because of her that I draw so much strength. She is so strong, caring and just a wonderful example to me of how we should be living our lives. I love you Randi and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family right now.

Comfort and Hope

This past weekend two friends of mine from high school had a devastating experience. One friend is married to the brother of my other friend. This weekend he took his life. I cannot imagine how difficult this is for them. I have not seen or talked to either of them for a few years so I don't know what they all must be going through. When someone goes this way, how do you feel comfort? It's hard enough for me, who has not been in touch with any of them, to feel comfort, but I know it is there if we will ask for it. There are so many questions in life that we do not have answers to, nor will we in this life. We must have Faith. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer for our sins and die, but Jesus Christ was also resurrected so that we might live again and we need to remember that. We will all live again and we can live as families forever. No matter how many times in life we lose our way, we can come back. We have a merciful, loving Heavenly Father who wantes us all to come back and will always be there to help us NO MATTER what!! What greater comfort is there than that? What greater hope is there than that? I hope and pray more then anything that the friends and family of him may let themselves feel the comfort and hope from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am so sorry that any of them had to experience this kind of pain.

Ten Months and walking!!

Hazel is now ten months old and she has been taking a good amount of steps everywhere. It is so cute!! She still crawls a lot, but she is taking more steps every day!! It is so fun to see. Oh....I just love her so much. She is so happy. She smiles all the time and she loves to make funny faces. She is starting to have conversations with me, and herself. It's still in goo goo gaa gaa language, but it is fun to watch her talk.

Nine Months!

Hazel is 9 and a half months old now!!! I can hardly believe it!! She was nine months on August 14th. She just had her 9 month appt with her Doc and she is 20.4 LBS and 28 inches long. Also, this past week has been a growing one for her. She took her first steps last Sunday with Grampy Bliss and has been standing alone and taking steps here and there all week for Josh and I. It won't be long now until she is walking! She also got her first two teeth this week. They are her two front bottom teeth. They are so cute!!! My baby is growing so fast...it is bittersweet, but I am enjoying every second I have with her. I feel so blessed!

CINCINNATI

We just recently took a trip to Cincinnati to visit Josh's parents. We were lucky enough to have to fly through Indianapolis, so we were able to have dinner with a bunch of our friends. It was so much fun. I love them all so much. They were so wonderful to us while we were there and they still are. We had a great time in Cinci. Josh's dad is the Mission President for the Cincinnati mission. His parents took such good care of us and just made our trip wonderful. Since we don't get to see eachother for the Holidays we took a day to celebrate Easter, a day for Thanksgiving, a day for Birthdays and a day for Christmas. Here are some pics.

Comfort for a friend!

As many of you have probably heard, our wonderful friend, Kristin Robbins Sellers, tragically lost her dear Mother, Molly Robbins, this weekend. At this time as I reflect on what a great friend Kristin has been all of these years, and what a wonderful, supportive Mom she has always had, it breaks my heart to know that she has to go through this. Most of us may never, and hopefully will never have to know, what it is like to lose our Mother this way, and it kills me to know that anyone, especially my friend, has to go through this. I am so grateful that we have the true Gospel in our lives. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent His only begotten Son here to suffer and die for us, but most importantly, to be resurrected and provide us with the Plan of Salvation. This gives us the opportunity to be with our families again someday. Hope is everything, and I know that Kristin and her family will be reunited one day. That does not take away the difficulty of this time, but it gives hope for what is to come and comfort for what is now. Kristin, if you read this, I love you and I am so sorry that you and your family have to go through this.

We are having so much fun together. She has quite the personality. She is so curious about everything and can't stand to miss a single thing. It is so funny to watch her during Sacrament Meeting. She is searching everywhere, looking at everything. She has starting to walk along the furniture now. I think she will be walking no later than 10 months, but possibly 9 months. She is so beautiful!!! I love her soooooo......much!!!

First Camping Trip

We went on our first camping trip with Hazel this weekend. It was a ward camp out and we went with my Mom, Dad and cousin Luke. Hazel was SO good!! She did the funniest thing too. I had just barely opened a Fresca for Luke so it was coming out the top of the can a little bit. We had put it in the drink holder of Luke's camping chair and Hazel was playing on a blanket next to it. Luke and I were putting the water guns away 2 ft away from her. When we turned back around, she had stood herself up on Luke's chair and was sipping the Fresca from the top of his can!!! That girl is so funny! She finds a way to get whatever she wants!! Anyway, we had a lot of fun!!!

Independence Day!!!

Sweet little Hazel!! Her first Independence Day!! I can't believe how fast she is growing!!! It is bitter sweet. She was so much fun this day though!!!
"What is Grampy doing with that thing?" (lawn mower, mowing the lawn)!!!
"Here's a big smile just for you Mom and Dad!"
"Audrey, pictures are fun, you'll see." Audrey and Hazel had a lot of fun going to their first Indenpendence Day parade together and just hangin out!!
Max and Hazel in their own little baby size pool at the mini blow up water park at Grammy and Grampy Bliss' house. They had a lot of fun!!!

Thank you to all of those men and women who have sacrificed, fought and served our country, and continue to do so, so that we can be free!!! Whether we agree or disagree with the war we are in, our fellow men are out there risking their lives, some losing them, for us and others who are God's children and we need to support them!!! Support out troops!!!

Thank you to our Heavenly Father for all he gives us, especially our elder brother, Jesus Christ, who lived and died for us so we may live again!!!

I am actually going to babble on this for a minute!!! I am not a good journal writer. As you can see, I like to record things through pictures. I used to love to write; maybe I still do, I guess we will see!!

I have been thinking a lot lately about how much time is wasted on grudges. Why is it so hard to forgive. I see it everywhere I go and yet, I do understand that it can be hard. But holding a grudge holds no weight on the person you are holding it against. The weight is carried by the one who holds it. Ugh! Who wants something more to carry around? What a relief it is when you truly forgive an let go. For the sake of our own lives and happiness, it is worth it to find a way. For the sake of that beautiful child we look at every day, it is worth it!!!

Hopefully I don't annoy anyone with my opinions, but I guess this is my blog, but I do want people to read it!!! Hmmm... :)

Cousin Fun!!

Hazel playing with her cousin Audrey at Great Grampy Clawson's house!! We have dinner and fun there every Thursday.
Audrey is Brandon and Lisa's little girl. She is only 7 weeks younger then Hazel.
Hazel with her cousins Lizzy, Luke, Danny, Alanna, Max and Bode.
Lizzy and Max belong to Amy and Ben, Max is only 1 week older then Hazel. Alanna, Luke and Bode are CJ and Wendy's. Danny is Tom and Sheryl's boy.
Hazel loves to play with her cousins. Even though she is still learning how to do things, she will watch them forever. She won't really nap when they are around either because she is having so much fun.

p.s. Happy Father's Day!! What a fun first Father's Day this was for Josh!!!

6 Months

Hazel has actually been 6 months since the 14th, but we just had her doctor appt today. She is 18 lbs 14 oz and 28 inches long. The doctor says she is healthy and growng just how she should be. She was so cute for everyone, they all love her!! Shot time was very sad though, but we are all better!!

The Zoo

Have any of you heard that song "The Zoo" by the Scorpions (the best band ever)? This topic just reminded me of it. So, we took Hazel to her first trip at the zoo. Yes, she is too young to know what is going on. She people watched more then she animal watched, but Josh and I, I mean, I had a lot of fun. I love the zoo!!!! We actually went with all the Bliss family for a fun family outing and for Lizzy, Bode and Wendy's birthdays. It was CRAZY!!! (It was also "Mommy and me" day at the zoo, so it was soooo...crowded). Hazel is also officially 6 months old today (5/14/08). I can't believe it. Yes, it is emotional! She is growing so fast, but it is so much fun because she is so fun!!!! What a blessing she is!!!!! By the way, we love you all!!! Thank you all for being such great friends and family. We truly are blessed!!

Hazel is always so happy!!! I am so grateful for that. She is almost 6 months - you'll see another post when she is officially. She has figured out how to tell me no - when I try to pick her nose, she moves my hands away with a lot of force, it's funny!!! She laughs so, so cute and is very busy with the toys. She is really starting to figure things out.

First Stick, I mean pig tails

Here are Hazel's first pig tails. They are so cute, but she looks older with them and it makes me sad. I can't put them in all the time because, as you can imagine, she doesn't always cooperate. She is also now doing a chomping thing with her mouth and she loves to do it all the time. It is really funny. She is getting so much more energy and loves to talk. Josh and I are cotinuing to do well. He is going to school more then full time and is working full time. I am taking care of Hazel and working as a licensed assistant for a real estate agent, Ron Benfield (http://www.benfieldrealty.com/).
